Jackson & Blanc teamed with Souza Construction to win a “best value” proposal for upgrading the heating and domestic hot water systems at over 30 buildings at MCAS Miramar. The selection of “best value” was based upon the teams overall response to the RFP while providing innovative energy efficient solutions to the bases overall hot water needs.

The project consisted of retrofitting the heating and domestic hot water systems at over 30 building with 96% efficient condensing boilers, HHW pumps, VFD’s, tank-less style hot water heaters, and DDC control upgrades.

Additionally roof mounted solar thermal hot water generation systems were provided in over 20 buildings that will provide heating and domestic hot water with almost no energy usage much of the year.

The entire construction process took place in occupied facilities over an 8 month period.
