UCSD Laboratory
VAV and Equipment Upgrades
Owner / General
University California San Diego
Contract Amount
$20 Million
One of the nation’s top universities, University of California San Diego, entrusted Jackson & Blanc to lead a multi-faceted air flow installation and equipment upgrade. Serving as the prime contractor, our team effectively managed the $20 million project, installing more than 1,000 Phoenix air valves, completing DDC control upgrades, replacing outdated equipment, adding variable speed drives, and installing sash controls at fume hoods. Our design team worked closely with UCSD faculty to ensure the building remained operational during the three-year installation process, reducing the impact to students and staff. The result is an upgraded VAV system that not only improves air flow but also efficiency at the university’s state-of-the-art research facility.
