Owner / General
U.S. Navy
Contract Amount
$16 Million
Serving as the design prime contractor, Jackson & Blanc partnered with Schnieder Electric to implement energy and resiliency upgrades at the Grace Hopper Data Center in Coronado, Calif. The data center provides critical logistical support for military operations in the western hemisphere. The $16 million project consisted of installing more than 1,500 tons of new chiller capacity, free cooling systems, air handler upgrades, computer room upgrades, a new 12KV electrical substation and supporting electrical distribution. Our team took a phased approach when completing this project, meticulously planning and scheduling construction to eliminate any disruptions in service and ensure the facility remained in full operation. All systems were designed and installed with redundancy and resiliency top of mind, due to the critical nature of the facility’s operations. The project was entirely funded through energy and maintenance savings over the performance period, a testament to the importance of reducing utility and maintenance costs.
